Mom was too busy to get me a gold fish as a pet.

I told mom that I wanted to keep a pigeon as a pet. But mom said, birds are supposed to fly freely up in the sky, to be with their friends and family. Furthermore, mom said birds sometimes carry disease like avian flu.

But what should I keep as a pet?
